I am trying to add a new hard drive (my fourth IDE
device: three HD's, one DVD) to my PC running XP Pro. My
BIOS detects it, but when Windows loads, there is no new
drive listed under My Computer.

The Device Manager DOES see it and tells me it is working
properly (as does the Add New Hardware Wizard). It's a
Western Digital 80GB IDE connected as Secondary Slave.

Current setup:

Primary Master: 7GB IDE drive
Primary Slave: another Western Digital 80GB IDE
Secondary Master: DVD-ROM
Secondary Slave: the new WD80 IDE.

Why won't XP install the new drive? It did all the others
just fine. Help!

Load up Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc), create a new volume, allocate
a new drive letter and format it!
