XP PRO disc has a crack in it

i was recently advised to run a system file check using my
xp pro disc which came with my machine it took some 50 or
so retry's before the process was completed, i am told it
should not be like that, it was then i noticed a crack in
the cd (definately not a scratch) extending about an inch
outwards from the centre,
what solution if any is recommended?
