Hi folks, i'm scuppered to the answer of this how i do have an idea of
a resolution (drivers) but even with this there is a problems.

My friend has changed cases, but all hardware is the same. All is fine
and dandy in the new case until you try to load XP (Sp2 is in this
machine and i wonder if it is worth trying to install that, however
i'm not sure how i'm going to manage it)

It does its usual Windows XP is loading and the bar keeps on moving as
it would during a normal boot then it goes to the black screen after
that and stays there, it never becomes to anything even after 20 mins.
The same happens in safe mode etc. If it is a driver issue, which i;m
guessing it is, the next issue is that this guy has NO driver cds for
his motherboard or anything!!

Also the edition of XP is an upgrade one, so its a non bootable cd,
and there is also no floppy disc drive.
Any ideas?!
TIA
Aly

You changed hardware on a Preinstalled version of XP. Without boot media,
you are not going to run a Repair setup.
Any legal Preinstalled version of XP must have a way to Recover the system.
Determine what you have purchased for that. If it doesn't include a way to
run setup, and choose Repair (e.g. a sysprep image doesn't offer this), I
don't think you are going to be able to use the setup image.
