I am using XP Home and current with all updates (getting
ready for SP2). I also use Norton Internet Security
(7.0.6.17) & AV (10.0.1.13) and current on all updates.
When newly installed, performance was pretty good but it
has continued to decline over past few months (orig.
install was in March/04).
My questions are:
- Has anyone had a similar experience and is there an
established a problem when using this OS and application?
This question is based on some rumors offered by others I
know.
Is there a cause/effect relationship between these two
that I might easily resolve? I've heard that SP2 will
provide add'l security but still lacks some of the full
features available under other products (e.g. Symantec,
ZoneLabs, etc.).
If there is a problem that requires removal of Symantec's
app, is there a recommended alternative? I don't want to
be without FW and AV protections.
