XP Networking help...

I've been trying to set up a network. Both computers are running XP
Pro. I've using Linksys HPRO200 Phoneline for the connection. Each
computer has access to the internet, no problem.

Whenever I go to View Network Computers, both PCs show up. However
when I click on the PC that is not mine I get:

\\Alex is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions.



The network path was not found.


How do I set up permissions? My goal was to share a printer, but the
the other PC cannot see the network for some reason.

I have e problem with my computer, in desktop is show one windows, is turn off computer from NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL ( RPC), WHAT I HAVE TO DO?
 
Without a Domain Controller to administer passwords and access
privledges, you are in a 'peer-to-peer' network. Ensure both
computers are in the same workgroup. Each user must have an account
on each computer in order to be able to access resources on them. So,
you need a user account on "ALEX" as well as a user account on the
other pc. So does EVERYONE who logs on to either PC, if they intend
to share resources (i.e. printer) Then, when you share the printer,
the default permissions is "everyone/full control" so you shouldn't
have any problem.

OK.. I'll give that a shot. Right now ALEX has no accounts, but the
other computer does.

You probably have the blaster worm.
