Hello all,
In our office we use a windows 2000 computer as a 'server'. It is
not a real one but everyone shares with this computer and saves files
on it. Most of our machines are win XP. Once, I used to manually config
each station's ip/dns, etc... when DHCP didn't work (for some reason).
About a month ago we added a machine and I found out by searching
online I didn't have even to set manuall but leave in on DHCP but I
tweaked something else. Then went back to the other computers I used to
have a problem with DHCP, tweaking the machines and they worked. We
just got a new machine today and cannot remember how I set up the other
machines. Any suggestions please?
Thanks,
Doron

Doron,

Do you remember the article you found online?

How about the NetBIOS Over TCP/IP setting? Is the DHCP Client service started
and automatic?

Let's take a look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" for the new computer,
and for a couple of the older computers. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely:
