Please help. My modem runs off USB. I have 1 PC and 1 server. The server
doen't have a USB port, so I want to network them together. I have an ASDL
modem (256KBPS) and I want to run the modem off the PC, not the server. Now I
want to use the internet connection setup wizard, I load it on to a floppy,
(by the way, the PC has XP, and the server has windows 2000 professional),
then it says: network setup wizzard is not supported for windows 2000, only
for windows XP, 98, 98se and melenium. But I can't see why it isn't supported
for 2000, because 2000 doesn't have network setup wizzard. And also, the
network adapters say they're connected, but they won't find the computers on
the network, so in other words, they won't share files, internet connections
or printers. Please help. Thankyou!

How are your machines connected? Are you using a router or a hub?
If you're using a cable connected to both machines network cards,
is it a crossover cable? A regular ethernet cable can't be used
this way.

That said, it sounds like you're trying to set up Internet
Connection Sharing using the XP machine as the shared connection.
ICS can be a little tricky to setup so you might want to
familiarize yourself with the concepts involved by taking a look
at these web sites:

Keep in mind that you need to create an account on the 2K machine
that's identical in user name and password to one on the XP box.
It also must have the correct level of access permissions to
shared resources. In other words, create a duplicate of your XP
account on the 2K machine.
