Hi,

I've got XP Pro SP1 here with a DSL connection.

When I start my computer, my desktop appears, and then everything stops for
2 or 3 minutes.
After this pause, it continues normally.

All I know, is that it has something to do with the networking components of
Windows.

I've had this problem several times before, and the only way to fix it was
to do a clean install of Windows.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

I cant give you a solution but I am having the same
problem. I have a wireless LAN connection worked fine for
months then overnight (and I mean overnight) suddenly got
the problem you described.

I have searched hi and lo for a solution but cannot find
one. At first it was a problem using DHCP so i hardwired
the IP addresses and that helped I can now connect to the
network but I still get the delay!

My router says everything is fine and I have rebuilt the
TCP/IP stack (see article 299357) but that didnt help!

Thought it may be due to (article 320229) but I have the
correct patches.

So I am stuck aswell - anyone out there know a solution.

Thanks in advance
