XP Media Center & MAC

I have recently purchased XP for our company and I'm trying to see it from
my Mac's. I Had an older PC with Windows 2000 and could see all. When I try
to acces the XP PC from my Mac's it just isn't there. I don't see an
AppleTalk setup like I saw on 200o. Do I need XP Pro?

You do not need XP Pro to share files between Windows and Macs. However,
you didn't tell us what OS the Macs are running.

Normally, you run Samba in OS X. Because XP Home only authenticates as
Guest, you'll need to either enable Guest in Samba or create user
accounts and passwords on the Macs that are identical to the ones in
Windows.

You also need to make sure that any firewalls on the XP boxen allow
file/printer sharing.

Is the Windows XP computer in the same workgroup as the Windows 2000 computer?

Your problem is with the Browser (I'm not discussing Internet Explorer here).
XP Home and Pro use the same browser.

You probably have a personal firewall, or a NetBT setting, problem. There are
several other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem.

You can run "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from Windows 2000 and XP, and
that may help diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and
