i want to install sp2 so i can use visual studio 2005 and the Internet
Explorer 7 beta version.
I do Not want to lose my windows boot splashscreen.
No, its not unimportant. I read all these threads but either did not find or
missed if it was possible. I did see where 'saving' it off and restoring it
after would appear an incorrect step.
Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
Thanks

the only change after appling SP2 is that the standard splash screen does
not state "home" or "pro" anymore ...are you using a different splash ?

Installing SP2 will not cause you to completely lose your boot screen.
It will change the boot screen so that it no longer says Media Center
Edition, but it will still say Windows XP. It will also not remove the
Media Center components of your machine.
