P
pulling my hair out
what I have is 2 computers, 1 running XP,1 running ME. A
linksys cable/dsl 4-pourt router model NR041 and a westell
wire speed dsl modem. All cables between computers, router
and modem are placed correctly.
The computer running ME can access all sights with no
problems and with great speed, matter of fact I am using
it now because the XP computer wouldn't let me post to
this news group. The computer running XP will let me
access most sights, but at a much slower rate. On sights
such as windows update, after doing a scan for updates,
will give the " the page can not be displayed" error
message. It will also give me that message on Yahoo when I
try to enter my mail folder. I also can't use my web cam
on Yahoo. I can bypass the router with the XP computer and
go directly from the computer to the modem and all is fine
with no problems at all. I was on the phone most of the
mrongin with tech teams from Linksys and resolved nothing.
I have tried Bellsouth (my ISP) tech with the only answer
being that it is either the router or my computer. The XP
computer is new and in perfect running order. Any
suggestions wise ones? Please help while I have hair left
on my head. Thanks in advance,
Brad
