XP log on

Xp Home will not display desktop or task bar. The only way to access programs
is via CONTROL ALT DEL and using Task Manager.

Can anyone help?

The most probable cause of this is that your computer is infested with
viruses and/or malware that has damaged (or is running instead of)
explorer.exe (the Windows graphical user interface). This can easily be
solved by a professional and unless you have advanced skills (and I'm
not dissing your mad skilz because I have no idea what they are), I
suggest you take the machine to a computer repair shop (not your local
version of BigStoreUSA).

If you would prefer to try to clean the machine yourself, you will need
to use Task Manager>New Task> to run the necessary programs via
commandline per the malware removal steps at this link:

It is my daughter's PC and she may have picked up a bug at college.
