Every time I start-up, XP wants to install my printer drivers even though they are already
installed from within XP. I have looked at msconfig and it is not loading there. Where
else should I look to stop this from occurring.

Thanks

Have you just let it install again ?

When I follow these instructions and try to right click delete, Windows gives me an error
message stating error whilst deleting.

Any other suggestions?

May I ask what printer you have? because I've had this problem with a
particular printer and the solution is actually to install another printer
as well, even though I don't physically have it!

Kyocera FS1000 is the problem

I have after installing this printer, installed a second printer without the same problem
occurring.

It is a real pain!

I just wondered - I had the same problem with a Samsung ML-4500 and the
Samsung-recommended solution was in fact to install the drivers for a
lexmark e210, although I didn't physically have the printer!

The reply from Kyocera . . . .

Use the driver deleter first to removes all instances of the Kyocera printer form each sub
tree. Once the printer has been installed, install the KX driver from the Australian
website.

Well that did not help so looks like I need to go back to the registry and try deleting it
that way.

However, Windows will not permit me to remove from the registry.

Could I have a preference set in XP that prevents me from deleting from the registry?
