I had XP existing on my pc, i just partitioned the
harddrive and installed win 2000. I now can not get back
into XP even with a boot manager. When I select XP to
boot, it just keeps cycling, shows boot screen then
reboots. 2000 boots fine. I set the partition for XP
active made sure it wasnt hidden and all that good stuff
but still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated

TIA

That sounds like your boot.ini file is no longer pointing
to where OS files are located. Boot to Windows 2000.
Then Start|Settings|Taskbar and Start
Menu|Advanced|Tools|Folder Options|View. In the view
dialog box turn on "Show hidden files and folders" and
turn off "hide protected operating system files". This
will allow you to see and edit the boot.ini file. It is
located in the root of the drive your system boots from.
Most likely C:\. Most techs use Notepad to view and edit
this file. The purpose of this file is to tell your
systems where to find your Operating Systems files. On a
dual boot system like you describe there should be an
entry for XP and one for W2k. I don't have an example at
my finger tips of a dual boot system but below is an
example from my W2k single boot system. You can find lots
of information about boot.ini in Microsoft's knowledge
base.
