I can not be on my computer for more than 10 minutes
without the system freezing up. I then have to restart
it every time. I have sent it in to Compaq and they
state that there must be something wrong with XP and so
they redid my computer. When I got it back it worked
fine until I downloaded the updates and now it is back to
freezing every 10 minutes. HELP!! How do I fix this?

I found a lot of information things in the event viewer.
But I have no idea if they are the problem and looking at
the time it looks like it occurs at startup not when it
freezes. I did find a few warnings or errors from
earlier and they had to do with plugnplay and win32 the
clock or something not getting syncronized.

I have not put in any new hardware. Because my computer
is a laptop and I use it as such. However, I did have to
have the motherboard replaced about 10 months ago because
it was bad. Since it was under warranty I have no idea
if they put a new one in or a remanufactured one.

Software wise, I have only put quicktime, Office XP,
Adobe Reader on. I do go to the University of Phoenix
online and use their newsgroups through OE but I don't
think that is affecting it or a lot of people would have
problems with their computers.

This is frustrating. Compaq could not figure it out even
though it was under warranty but the software part had
just expired. They just faulted XP because they couldn't
see any conflicts with the software I had. They told me
I need to contact Microsoft but Microsoft tells me that
Compaq should handle it. Of course this won't happen
because HP bought out Compaq and could seem to care less
about the Compaq name now.
