XP is constantly changing my desktop icons

Hi,

XP has this ability to choose the icons for, say, the Recycle bin on the
desktop. Its quite neat, because the "ghosty" default is hard to see and
hurts my eyes. Anyway, I choose an icon, and at some random stage (normally
about once every week or two weeks) XP will change it back to the ghost bin.

Why is it doing this? Why does it change my choice?

Before anyone mumbles something about profiles, I should point out that I am
the only person who uses this PC.

Another thing: When I run Task Manager, I seldom get the icon in the tray
(bottom right of screen). I might have to do it half a dozen or more times
before it appears. Bug in XP or a setting I can change?

Thanks,
Alain

Ghosty Bin? Are you running Norton Utilities? A Ghosty bin is not normal in XP
