For some reason now, loading almost any program (Office components, Internet
Express, Ad-Aware, Explorer, etc.) seems to attempt to kickoff the Windows
Installer screen, which lasts for just a moment or two and then disappears,
and is followed by a normal load of the application selected. When I first
boot the machine, the Installer screen seems to display for 2/3 of a second
(just long enough to be able to read what is it) but later after the PC has
run for a while and several applications have been loaded and unloaded, the
Installer screen duration seems to shorten and become almost unreadible. The
system (Dell 8300) to be a bit slower that when it was new (a year)

I am almost certain this is not a virus or trojan or spyware--I run McAfee,
Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, Ad-Watch, etc. and have run full scans of the
drive with every tool I can find, including Sytem Mechanic and RegSeeker--and
find no reportable problems. As a last resort, I guess I am going to have to
format C and re-install everything unless someone has a solution to share.

Thank you!
