I have XP installed on my home PC and I am trying to
upgrade a laptop I obtained (for free) from work. When I
click setup I get "Setup cannot upgrade your current
installation to windows XP....." I understand it is not
happy because the W NT 4 installed on the laptop is a
corp license. Irregardless, it should be legal for me to
install a second copy of XP on my laptop. Are there any
ways I can accomplish this? (I hate to spend $35 to call
MS when it is their policies causing me headaches).

Windows NT4 can only be upgraded to XP Pro. Installing XP Home on this
system would require a clean install.
