trying to install XP, I get error message 51BFF58h. In
order to contact Microsoft, I need my product ID, which I
can't get unless it's installed already! How do I get the
product ID without it being installed? Or how do I
contact someone from Microsoft for help?

All I need is to get this installed. thanks

Tried a search on google for this error code - turned up nothing. Similar
response on MS web site.

It is probably a hardware error of some sort. Are you trying to upgrade? Did
the machine have an O/S on it before and if so what did you do to get to the
point on installing?

If I were you, I would first check that all your AGP cards, memory etc is
well seated in their respective slots. If you can swap memory in and out try
that as well. Check that you have all the right master/slave settings on any
HDs and CDROM etc. Check your bios settings for any odd settings and if you
can use default settings.
