When I got to install XP, full, over ME I get this error that the computer
stopped so not to harm the computer. It says: bad_pool_error

What is that and how do I fix it.

Bad_Pool_Caller errors are often related to incompatible drivers but can be
related to failing hardware or memory, or memory that won't work with XP.
XP's requirements are tighter than ME's.

If that's the problem, you can only fix it via replacement.

More information would be helpful, like the numbers listed right after the
BAD_POOL_CALLER.

Did you run the Upgrade Advisor on the XP CD prior to performing the
upgrade?

Did you back up the data first?

When, during the upgrade, did you get this error?
