CD What's the difference between an installable version of XP, and a

A "Recovery CD" runs a little program that will restore your OEM computer to
its factory condition. All the data and settings that you have configured
since that time will be lost forever.

An installable version is an actual OEM or Retail version of the Windows XP
operating system. It can be used to install the operating system. It can
be used to repair an existing installation, and it can be used to access the
recovery console should that ever become necessary.

An installation CD is one that installs the operating system, and contains
all the components, drivers, installation choices, etc thta you may need.

A recovery CD is one made by your particular OEM for their computers. You
can think of it as being much like an image backup of the operating system
as it was first installed on the computer. When you use, it puts that image
back on your system.
