XP Install Poblems. HELP!

Specs:
CPU: AMD 2500+
Memory: 1 gig of pc3200 samsung.
Motherboard: Asus a7n8x Deluxe
Hdd: WD 160gb Caviar w/ 8 mb cache
Graphics: Ati Radeon 9500 pro
Windows Version: Xp Professional


Well I lost my WD 120gb hdd the other week and after
numerous attempts to reinstall people on numerous forums
told me it was my hdd. I bought another one yesterday.
(160gb WDcaviar w/ 8 mb cache this time.) Now, I still
can not insstall. It cannot copy a bunch of files but,
sometimes it will pass them other times it will not.

I'm having all sorts of instabilities with my new wd hd and
Soundblaster Audigy card. I had the WD new as Master, the
other as slave, it fell over and I reinstalled without
removing the slave one and have been working constantly
since then - nearly 24 hours now, and all I know is that C
partition has lost the FAT, and so Win XP can't handle it,
and thew WD floppy won't, neither will an ME boot up disk. :(
