XP Install not find hardware

I'm trying to do a fresh reinstall of XP Pro, but for some reason XP Pro is
not "seeing" the Ethernet adapter, sound card, and video card. Those devices
have "?" by them in Device Manager. XP is also not seeing the Linksys
router, I assume because it doesn't know the router exists. I would like to
repartition the hard drive to be certain all the former XP stuff is off the
drive but the format part of XP tells me there are important installation
files on the hard drive and won't let me repartition. I have installed XP
Pro several times on other machines but have never seen this problem.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

Rich

Hi Richard,

Do your format and OS reinstall after booting from your CD. Windows
won't let you format while it's running things.

You may need to enter your BIOS to enable booting from the CD drive
containing your OS disk.
