Hello,

I want to configure an XP to accept incoming SLIP
connection (or any other incoming connection) on a
serial COMx port.
Unfortunately, though I can configure an incoming
connection, I can't select COM port... Modem is OK,
parallel port is OK too, but no serial, though I have
some on my machine...
What's wrong ? How is it possible to connect to an XP
thru the Serial COMx port ?

Regards,
Paul

Are the com ports enabled in your bios? Are there any listed in Device
manager?

Hello,

Yes, they are completely available, as I can use them
with HyperTerm for example.

There must be a 'modem' present, there is null modem device provided in
Windows for this purpose. It is called "Communications cable between two
computers".

It uses the 'dialing sequence' of
client: CLIENT
client: CLIENT
server: CLIENTSERVER
So you'll have to arrange the scripting to suit.
