Leroy

I dont know whose idea XP was, but I hope he/she and all
of them together have a flat tire on their way home.
Actually, I seem to put at least one curse a day, this
is ridiculous...

The last 2 hours I've been trying to print a word
document, one that I've printed before xp many a time,
and which I've updated recently. Its about 75 pages...

Processing stops in the middle of printing, word
freezes on me, so I have to kill it. Or, it just gives me
that this application has encountered an error, blah
blah, blah, and asks me if I want to send these MORONS
a report, which I do. I wish there was a way to enter
my own little input in that report, to tell these
micro-MORONS what MEGAMORONS they really are...

XP is horrible so far, if you are thinking about upgrading
to it, FORGET IT! Myself, I resent it dearly.

And there is no way to shut down Lotus Notes and restart
it. It will NOT. I need to reboot for it to come up again.
I just quit sending them reports on that one, cause its no
use anyway...

I wish I had the time to write each and every piece of
garbage xp throws on me every day the last 2 months I have
the stupid thing...

Perhaps you should roll back to Windows ME?

Try defragging your hard drive or updating your printer
driver.

I've printed a 120-page MS-Word doc with no errors.

You know - every single one of your problems are *YOUR* fault - not Windows,
not Microsoft's *YOURS* - got that?! I bet you're one of those people who,
if they're stuck in a jam on their way to work, blame the company digging up
the road for the fact they're going to be late. But, if you'd bothered to
turn the radio on, and listened to the traffic bulletin, you'd have known
about the roadworks and could have avoided them. Is it the
gas/phone/water/electric/cable company's fault you didn't plan your journey?
Nope - the responsibility lies fairly and squarely on *YOUR* shoulders.

It's the same with Windows XP (or any new OS for that matter). Had you
bothered to a) download the Upgrade Advisor and scanned your system, b)
checked the Hardware and Software Compatibility List to see if your
hardware/software was compatible and had drivers c) formatted the hard drive
and started clean and d) thought you wouldn't be having problems now - guess
what? I did all those things and I've had zero problems with XP since I
installed it nearly 2½ years ago. Funny that...

So stop blaming the OS for your inability to do any research/homework
whatsoever and start taking responsibility for your - yes *YOUR* mistakes,
failings and inability to plan.

Perhaps you should upgrade your unsuitable hardware and do a
proper installation of all your software. XP never gives me
any problems with a modern mobo/CPU and printer designed to
operate with XP.

Did you do an upgrade or a clean install.
Also did you check that you hardware and
software was compatible with XP before
installing XP?

What a silly question - of course he didn't! ;o) He's obviously one of those
people who does first then blames the manufacturer because he cannot be
bothered to read the manual!

Greetings --

Do you have any specific problem(s) that you need help with, or
are you just venting? Why do you prefer to blame the OS, rather than
the individual(s) who obviously botched the installation and
configuration?

It sounds like an issue of incompatible/sub-standard/defective
hardware, or device drivers, or defective/sub-standard wetware.
Further, WinXP is much more sensitive to borderline defective
hardware, particularly RAM and hard drives, than is Win9x/Me.

Have you installed the most recent WinXP-specific device drivers
for the PC's components? Does the PC's manufacturer offer a BIOS
upgrade to provide true WinXP-compatibility? Are all of the PC's
components on Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)?

In other words, "I've had certain troubles on one machine; thus, Windows
XP sucks." Right.

I guess Leroy is one of those people that should not be allowed to use a
computer.
