I have a HP Pavillion running XP Home. I would like to
install a 2nd hard drive and run Win 98 with DOS on it.
Can I just install the second drive and then install Win
98 on it? If so how do I chose which OS to boot to? Or is
there boot up issues?

Any suggestions? Thanks, Ken

Windows 98 always has to be on the machine first, you'll need to install it
to the C drive and then install XP.

OK but heres the problem. The current C drive is
partitioned and all the software that came with the
computer (including XP)is on the partion. I do have the
I386 folder that I think has all the XP stuff. Anyway
could I switch the position of the current C drive on the
cable, rename it, put the new drive on the cable, install
Win 98 to it, then use the system restore function of the
orginal drive to reinstall XP on the now secondary drive?
But with no xp disks how would I do that?

Sounds like an OEM install which would make this all the more difficult as
they usually have an image that formats and partitions the machine for you.
Might be best to pull the XP drive, install clean to a new disk with 98 and
then slave the XP drive.

Okay, how is the bootup handled, will I be able to
select the OP i want at bootup? Does the new drive become
the C drive or does the original OEM drive stay the C
drive but is just slaved.
