I'll be upgrading my system to XP Pro soon. I'll be using a full, retail versions. I do not want to have to re-install apps/drivers etc if I don't have to, but I would like the benefits of a fresh install

Can I install in a new directory without having to re-install my apps/drivers? I read in another post that I should select 'Upgrade' rather than 'New Installation'. What would the consequences of selecting 'New Installation' be

Thank you

If you qualify for the lower priced upgrade , that is the best way to go.
You have the option of upgrading or doing a fresh install. The upgrade in
your case would be your best option , since the drivers are the same. Jym
