XP Home SP1 and SFC / Scannow

Following a MB replacement and Repair installation of XP Home, everything
working OK except for Autorun of audio CD's ( the cd tracks are shown in an
explorer window instead of playing or allowing me to select a program to
play them, also no Autorun feature in the menu when I R-click my cd drive -
this feature is on my 2nd PC ) anyway, decided to run sfc /scannow. Insert
XP cd and when showing on screen Exit it then run sfc /scannow.
Failure, it wants a XP Professional SP1 CD. No matter what I try, Safe Mode
etc no joy.

Can anyone tell me how to run sfc, obviously something is up in the
Registry.

Any help much appreciated.
 
Just keep hitting Retry over and over again until it works. Sometimes it
takes about twenty tries. I had the same problem
and that's the only solution I've found.
