Yeah I thought that was the reason for this error as well BUT I had
literally just installed my modem drivers on a totally clean install of XP
home and I got this error after being connected for 2 minutes!

That can't be the virus can it?

Hi

Your system has been infected by the Blaster Worm. Have a look at the

Yes, it can. It takes much less than 2 minutes for the Blaster worm to
invade a system. The first step after installing is to turn on the XP
Firewall, not connect to the internet.

Hi

Yes, I'm afraid so - it doesn't take very long for a system to be infected. You need to disconnect your modem until you have at least the XP firewall in place.

Greetings --

When you're using a computer the counts in nanoseconds and
milliseconds, two minutes is a very long time. It takes only seconds
of exposure to become infected.

Yikes

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm new to the world of XP and this was quite a
shock to me!

Got AVG and zonealarm running now to keep the PC safe.

Cheers
