Thanks for the replies guys, I'm new to the world of XP and this was quite a
shock to me!
Got AVG and zonealarm running now to keep the PC safe.

Yes, I'm afraid so - it doesn't take very long for a system to be infected.
You need to disconnect your modem until you have at least the XP firewall in
place.

| Yeah I thought that was the reason for this error as well BUT I had
| literally just installed my modem drivers on a totally clean install of XP
| home and I got this error after being connected for 2 minutes!
