In this context, "Recovery Disk" is a term generally used by your hardware
manufacturer, as it isn't a Windows XP CD...it's a CD that will restore your
OS/software to the exact state the computer was in when you bought
it....meaning your data and all your individually installed/customized
software is lost.

So, that said, what exactly is it you're trying to do? If you didn't get a
reinstallation CD with your computer, perhaps the manufacturer put an image
in a hidden partition? It's really hard to answer your question without more
information.

Since we don't know anything about your computer or what you've tried
that you found difficult, we can't give you specific help. Please go to
this site to see what details you need to include in your next post in
order to get focused troubleshooting:

The XP installation CD is bootable and performs that function. If it's
a vendor OEM recovery system you're talking about you might want to
contact their tech support folks.
