HP PhotoSmart P1100 Photo Printer. I uninstalled the old
software (that I found did not work with XP) and
downloaded the new software and drivers from HP's website
(took a LONG time). The printer will print on the
Administrator account only, which is the account I used
for the download. How do I set it to allow printing on
ALL accounts?

Go into the Control Panel and click on Printers & Faxes. Right click on the
Printer and select Properties. In the Advanced tab, click on "Print Direct
to Printer" instead of using the Spooler. This is most often seen on XP
Home with Norton (Symantec) antivirus software installed.

Cari,
Your suggestion solved my problem as well. Thank you very much. My other
problem is that networked printers temporarily display "not connected" on my
home LAN and I delete them and start over but then I cannot browse for them
or find them even when I type in correct path names. Any ideas?

When they disappear, can you still 'see' the files and folders on the PC to
which they are attached?

Cari,
Problem solved. It was a simple matter of enabling "trusted sites" on the
McAfee firewall. Thanks for quick reply.
