I am attempting to install an OEM version of Windows XP Home on a new system.
I have created the 6 floppy disks to initialize installation. I have loaded
those six disks and I am prompted to put the XP Home CD into the CD drive.
When I put the CD in, install begins and then I get the following message:
"The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is corrupted or missing.
Value 0 on the line in section [SourceDisksFiles] with key "SP2.cab." Setup
cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3." How can I fix this problem and
install my copy of XP Home?

Why do you need 6 disks? The XP Home CD is bootable and all the install
procedures are on it.

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.

When I try to boot from the XP CD, I get a message that no OS could be found.
Any ideas about that. Could it be problem with my copy of XP Home?

Are you using the correct CDs?
There are several sets depending on exactly what type of CD you have:

Also you should not need the CDs since all Windows XP CDs are
bootable:

You have verified CDROM is a boot device before hard drive?
Is the Windows XP CD a genuine Microsoft CD and not a burned copy?
Try a different Windows XP CD.
Try a different CD drive.

If you have a basic problem such as this, you should find the source
as well as solution before continuing.
