I am trying to connect my two computers, both running XP
Pro so I can share my internet connection, printer and
files. However whenever I try to run the Set Up Home
Networking wizard on one of the computers - the one with
the internet connection - i get the error message:

"Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The wizard then stops and although i can now use the
internet on both machines i cannot share the files or
printers.
Can anybody help me resolve this problem please?
Thankyou

Hi,

This problem could happen if the printer is not configured properly on the
computer. Please check the KB Article below which will give you step by
step instrctions on how to resolve this problem.

"Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close" and
"Operation could not be completed" error messages

This is invariably caused by using the "Setup a Home or Small Offic
Network" wizard. Microsoft articles 324757/810894 do not resolve th
problem and send novice users into the registry.

Instead download the utility posted by Brother Ltd which repairs th
spooler:
