Hello to all,

A new client has a workgroup of 3 PCs using XP Home. One of the users stores
Excel files on his PC-A, and another user has a mapped drive to those files
from her PC-B. However, when PC-B opens these files on PC-A it takes forever.
Both PCs appear to have intermittent problems, but I wondered if this type of
problem was down to the PCs being Windows XP Home Edition in this type of
setup or whether these were just general PC problems regardless of whether
the O/S's were XP Professional or XP Home.

Many thanks for all help and guidance,
Jeff

Jeff,

A computer running Windows XP Home, within the limitations, should respond as
well in a workgroup as one running XP Pro. If you have slow response, you have
probably either a name resolution or protocol issue.
