Okay, here's the problem I am encountering. I am upgrading to XP home from Win98. I run the setup from the CD and choose to upgrade. It runs fine for the most part up until the end. I run into one issue that doesn't halt the installation but does confuse me. I get a message saying that something hasn't passed XP seal or whatever that is. The weird thing here is that where it seems like it should tell me what device/program the problem is, it is completely blank there and it gives me no information about what the problem is. I have clicked both yes and no for this error and it continues fine. It goes fine until it starts the first part of the finalization, upgrading programs and system info. It barely starts that, and it just hangs there at about 20 minutes to go. I've let it sit there for over 30 minutes just in case that was the problem, but it did nothing. It just sat there at the same point and it didn't give me any sort of error message whatsoever.
I've scoured the support knowledge base and tried many suggestions there and none have worked. I've removed a good deal of software and hardware from my machine and it still hangs at the same point. Any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate.
System details:
KT7A -Raid motherboard from Abit
Athlon 1.2Ghz Thunderbird
