Hi, ive recently bought a new computer running xp home and i have noticed while running games after a short while the computer will reset. After this had happen a few times i decided to check if the temperature was the problem, so i downlaod speedfan to monitor the temperature while playing a game, about 50 mins into a game the computer reset and quickly booted up again, so i ran speedfan again and checked the temperature strait away and it usally sais somthing like 45 degrees. Ive heard that for a P4 this should not be a problem and that P4's should easily run at around 60-80 degrees. So i was wondering if the reset temperature is set at around 45 degrees and if it is i will change it. The question im ask is can someone please tell me how to change the temperature settings on xp home or if you dont think it is a temperature problem can u please say so, and suggest a remedy. Thankyou.

If it is running 45C it is running cool. Go to System Properties /Advanced
tab / Startup and Recovery / uncheck auto startup. This will stop the
computer from resetting and should give a blue screen error message before
allowing you to restart. Copy down the entire message and post back for
assistance. Jym
