Can anybody help please.
Over the weekend my home PC (XP Home edition) went down. When booting up the
first thing it said was the "Windows\system32\config\system" file was
missing or corrupt.
I tried everything to get onto the drive but couldnt. The recovery console
froze when I selected the OS number.
I had no problem reinstalling windows but I had personal family picutres
stored and rather stupidily did not back up.
In the end and for future backup purposes, I bought a second drive and
loaded it as the slave. I loaded XP Professional onto it and it can up
great.
I was able to access the files over on C drive but here is my problem. My
pictures are stored in the MY Documents directory of my user login which is
the administrator and I set the folder to not be accessable to other users.
I CANNOT GET TO THE FILES....
Does anyone have any idea how to force my way onto this directory to recover
my photos.
Cheers
PS I then also replaced the SYSTEM file on C with a backuped one to try to
get back onto the OS on C but the lsass.exe program came up with an
error.?????
