I have four XP HOME clients running on my networK. I see all the folders I
have share from any of these machines. But when I tried to access a file
from anyone of these machines, I get access denied! Any Ideas?

Sincerely,
Bvanwood

Bvanwood,

Windows XP Home uses Simple File Sharing, and Guest authentication. You have to
activate the Guest account properly on each computer. Check all other settings
noted too.

let ME clarify the problem....

1. simple file sharing is enable on all the clients.

2. I am trying to connect to a network printer

3. I CAN SEE THE SHARE PRINTER FROM EACH ONE OF THE CLIENT, BUT I CANNOT
ACCESS THE SHARED PRINTER.

4. THE SAME GOES FOR THE SHARE FOLDERS! I CAN BROWES THEM, I CAN SEE THE
FILES IN EACH FOLDER BUT I CAN NOT ACCESS THEM.

Bvanwood,

1. The browser is used to let you see what's out there. The browser will use
anonymous access when necessary. Your browser appears to work, unlike many
asking for help here.

2. Guest authentication is what's used by Simple File Sharing, when you access
a file. The Guest account has to be properly enabled on any computer sharing
files or printer, using SFS.

3. Please don't shout in this forum. Remain calm, and the helpers here can
help you. Help us to help you.

4. If the problem is NOT Guest account related (and I'm not convinced of that
yet), check the shares on the servers themselves.
