XP Home Edition and Wheel Scroll Mouse in Works Spreadsheets

I am a new user to XP Home Edition, and I cannot get the wheel mouse to scroll in the Works Spreadsheet program.
Was wondering if there is a fix for this, and if so, how and where is it?
