Morning,
Now, before we all start getting a bit silly here, I think rule one should
be "Never Assume". I do not have a terminal server licence and consequently
my Win 2K server is not running terminal services, its just a data storage
server, but yes it is enabled to accept remote connection via the single
connection TS option. However, I am a little lazy and prefere to connect to
it from my desk (which I think it is here you assumed my desktop is XP, its
not, its also 2K, abiet the server version) as opposed to walking across the
room. Remote desktop is an XP function and it does not appear within the Win
2K environment.
So I downloaded this;
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/tools/rdclientdl.mspx
And hey presto I save myself having to buy a new pair of shoes. Now you can
download this little bit I mention above and install it on a XP home edition
PC, amazing really. But in the aspect this wont really help Dean as he wants
to connect to his home PC & not the home PC connecting to his work so lets
leave that one to rest.
For me then the solution would be remote assistance (or Assistance Ã
distance as my OS is in French).
If all of the above is going to involve a sarcastic reply, please, dont
waste time tapping away on your keyboard.
Be nice to people, T
