can this be done? if so, I would like to do it. I have
a home network w/ 1 xp pro and and 1 xp home. I want to
connect to my xp home machine.

thanks

XP Home does not support the use of Remote Desktop in a "host" mode. So, with that said...you can
use VNC or NetMeeting Remote Desktop to access/control a XP Home box remotely...

Get the VNC software from...

http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/

For help with NetMeeting RDS look at this KB article. NetMeeting is built-in to XP and can not be
upgraded...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;233175

Note that the VNC data stream is *NOT* encrypted so that is a potential security problem if you use
if over the public internet. Some folks run VNC through VPN tunnels to get around that issue.

Or...update to XP Pro...:-)

it should work, but the remote logs off temporarily when u log in therewith another PC. get pc anywhere or VNC Viewer www.realvnc.com which isfree and superb.

Remote Desktop (Server) does not exist for Windows XP Home...

Try UltraVNC (ultravnc.sourceforge.net) which offers much better video
performance than RealVNC.
