Hello all!

I have 2 XP Home computers, now called (KEN) and (OFFICE).

Both are connected to the internet through a router (not wireless).
We both can access the internet just fine.
OFFICE can access KEN and transfer files and access the shared printer on KEN.

KEN can't access OFFICE at all. I can't view the OFFICE computer in "My
Network Places", --> view workgroup compujters. It goes to the hourglass for
about 30 seconds then it says the network is not accessable.

I've ran the network setup wizard on both computers, nothing.

I have Sygate firewall on both computers, and I believe both are setup to
allow each other access.

I've gone to the Help and Support and I couldn't find anything there.

What can I do to fix this problem?

Try in the following order:

First, check to make sure that the folders you are trying to access are
actually shared folders.

If you haven't already done so, add the ip addresses of both computers
and the router to the trusted zone in your firewall for your home
network.

Temporarily turn off the firewall on one computer, then check access.
If it is still not working, then turn off the firewall on the other
computer and try again. If it works after turning off one or both
firewalls, then you at least know where the problem lies (firewall).

Note: Sometimes when you turn off your third-party firewall, the
Windows Firewall will automatically turn on! Make sure it is not also
causing the problem.

Thanks for the reply.

It turns out that Sygate was the part of the problem. I disabled it on both
computers.

I can now see the OFFICE computer on my KEN computer.

Although a new problem has come:

"\\Office\SharedDocs is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions.

Not enough server storage is available to process this command"

Thats the error I get word for word when I try to open any shared folder on
the network.

I have no idea how to fix this.
