Notification Area - Icons Disappearing
This happens for most Auto-Logon users. To see what the three
methods/workarounds are visit the above site.

Notification Area - Hidden Chevron Missing
For some users setting the very first icon to Always Hide, restores the arrow.
This behavior seems to come into effect when one uses an icon on the System
Tray. Also be certain that the "behavior" of each of each icon is what you want
it to be. Right-click each, to make changes.

Why don't my Notification Area icons show or why do they disappear?

Yes Bob it did...and I found that 30 seconds after I hit the send button on
my post :)

Thanks

Morning.
This works in XP Home: Right click the taskbar, click Properties, un-check
the Hide inactive Icons box. Hope this helps..

Thanks always Kelly, you're site is one of the MVP tresure chest that I have
grown so fond of :)

I do have a stumper for ya however: In 98, ME versions, kerneltoys.exe
contained a file which, when installed, allowed the user to switch 4
particular keys so that (for example) the LEFT CTRL key, when pressed, acted
as the caps lock key, and the caps lock key perfo0rmed the function of the
LEFT CTRL key when pressed.

Since I'm affected by a particular problem with my spine/nerves, I'm forever
switching into all caps when I type because when I type the a-key I also hit
the caps lock key, and the filke from kerneltoys was a tremendous feature.
Is there any way to reroute the commands these two keys receive when pressed
in XP PRO?

Doug

Sorry Doug, I'm not Kelly and I have no association with her site. You may wish
