How do I get "Computers Near Me" to show up in Windows
Explorer. I'm using XP Pro and want to be able to see
another computer running W2K on my network. I can see the
XP box from the W2K box but not vice-versa.
Thanks

Vaughn,

sorry, I'm looking for that same answer myself. But meanwhile
you can still look at the other computers by going into the
Entire Network, then Microsoft Windows Network.

To see computers in the "Computers Near Me" you need to
have all that computers in same domain as you are.

I am in the same Domain and the "Computers Near Me" folder
still doesn't appear.

Also, when I click on the Microsoft Windows Network I see
the other computer (running W2K) but it asks for a
username and password to get into it. I never had to do
that when both machines were running W2K.

So how do I get:
1. Computers Near Me to show up as a folder? (Both
computers are in the same Domain), and
2. How do I eliminate the username and password for the
W2K machine when I'm in MS Windows Network?

Thanks,
Vaughn

Vaughn,

"Computers Near Me" won't show up in a domain, it's in workgroup/home
network mode.

at least as far as I've ever seen, in a domain you need to do a drill down.
Or add items to your network favorites
