Hi Bill,
Regarding your post below, there is no silver bullet <that I could find>
for the quick launch bar in Group Policies on a WinXP Pro machine. You may
be able to accomplish the objective with one or more other local GPs not
designed specifically for Quick Launch.
NOTE : I couldn't test this yet - I'm at home and using a XP Home system.
BIG HAMMER:
- Use the Group Policy setting "User Configuration\Administrative
Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer\Enable Classic Shell"
- This is a big hammer approach, but it could disable the Quick Launch bar
completely..
LITTLE HAMMER: <disclaimer: this may not work>
- Use the Group Policy setting "User Configuration\Administrative
Templates\Start Menu and Task Bar:
- Do not display any custom toolbars in the taskbar.
- With this setting you may also need to modify a couple of other
interfaces:
- "Prevent changes to the Task Bar and Start Menu Settings"
- "Remove Access to the context menus for the Task Bar"

| I had a GPO the allowed me to turn on/off the Quick
| Launch bar in the task bar. I can't find it now and want
| to make a change.
|
| This was a Beta version of the XP GPO set. Does anyone
| know where I can get it or how to change this policy
| setting.
|
| Thanx to all
| in advance
