<g> I set the Hardware Acceleration to "None". No dice!
I think I find some sort of pattern.
It crashes most when I first start the computer in the morning.
After couple reset and warm up, it may run fine for all day.
I think the screen saver/power managment doesn't work anymore.
Not sure about this because usually it freezes b4 it goes to power saving.

-------------------------------------------------------
I am gussing it is the sound card driver issue.
It is an on-board SoundMax sound card from the ASUS motherboard.
I am gussing that the driver does not like Direct X 9.0b.
becasue when I play Starcraft, the sound will suddenly stop before XP
crashes.
(but) sometimes there is no problem at all for the whole day.
Heat may not be the issue here because it will crash right after I turn on
the computer in the morning after 1-2 minutes. It is totally random.

There isn't any newer drive. So, I slide the Hardware Acceleration thing
from "Full" to "None".
I will be testing it more with the "None" setting.

Another idea: maybe the heat is causing a small crack to open and close,
causing the unreliability? I don't know now how to detect this, but
perhaps a computer repair shop knows.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
