Andy

I switched on my PC today and it seemed to take a lot longer to boot up.

When it get to the bit just before it loads up my desktop i got an error
message saying words to the effect of 'Windows could not load your profile,
please contact your administrator', it also had a countdown timer counting
down from 30 seconds.

I clicked OK, and then got the error message "Advanced INF Install -
%REMOVE_NODIR_ERROR%", then i got another error message "An exception error
occurred while trying to run 'IEDKCS32.DLL, BrandIE4SIGNUP' "

I just clicked OK to these both and it loaded up the desktop, but i am not
in my original profile because i have lost lots of icons from the desktop
(as if it was a brand new install).

I look in the C: drive and all my files are still there and run OK, so it
must be some file with my profile which hasn't loaded up properly - PLEASE
HELP !!!!!

I don't really want to have to re-format everything !!

Thanks
Andy

Further to my last post, this is the error i initially get - "Windows
cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary
profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off."

XP doesn't forget any of my settings and i have to alter them every time i
re-boot.

Please Help !

How much space have you got on the C: Drive?

Cheers,

Cliff

Well it's ok now because i managed (after a hell of a lot of hassle) to use
the 'System Restore' and now it's fine. But i don't know what had caused
this !!
I had 59Gb of space left, so i dont think that was an issue.

Cheers
Andy
