I HAVE FOUND AN EXT. HDD LISTED AS FIREWIRE400/800 AND USB. ALSO LISTED AS
PERFORMATTED FOR MAC BUT ALSO PC COMPATABLE. SHOULD THIS WORK WITH WINDOWS
XP HOME?

THANKS ANY WHO!!!

Hi CJ,

If it's pc-compatible, then it should work fine with WinXP Home, though you
may need to redo the partitioning/formatting if it is preset for a mac.

Also, please do not post in ALLCAPS, as it is hard on the eyes and makes
your request difficult to read. In newsgroups, use of ALLCAPS is considered
to be shouting, and therefore rude. It may also limit the number of helpful
people that will reply to you, as some will skip posts made in this fashion.

You should have either USB2 or Firewire for such a device already on your
PC.

Service Pack 1 for XP fixes some issues with firewire. SP2 has provided
some native drivers for some USB 2.0 chipsets, but not all.

You'll probably have to remove the partition on that drive, partition and
format it for XP use. Come back for that help.

You're showing you newbieness. Turn off the caps lock key.
