Hello All,

Hoping someone can help me with my problem.

I have Windows XP SP2 and am experiencing my Windows Firewall taking 2
minutes to start up after Windows does. During the 2 minute time span, I
experience 2 things

1. I can not access the internet via any windows applications. However,
during this time I can open up a command prompt and display an IP Address via
ipconfig and can run a trace rout to any website on the internet.

2. My startup applications stop loading. As soon as the 2 minutes are up
and the Windows Firewall starts, my startup applications complete their load

So... I was not sure what was happening (virus or corruption) so I rebuilt
the machine from scratch yesterday. The problem went away until Windows
decided to download and install a package of updated (3 of 3) upon a shut
down. Ever since, I am experiencing the same problem.

Does anyone know how to correct this problem... or uninstall a windows update?

What were the three updates. Go to the windows update site and click on the
option 'Review your update history'. This may give you a clue as to what
update cause the problem. Also note that some updates can be un-installed.
