this has been bugging me for a while... when I search for files, it works
fine - the first time. In order to search again, I have to close windows
explorer and open it back up again.

When searching for a second time, the 'all files' option disappears, and the
search says complete before it ever searches.

let me know if you know anything...

Double-Click "My Computer", double-click the "Local Disk (C:)
Click "Tools", "Folder Options", click the "View" tab, under "Files and Folders", check
everything except "Do not cache thumbnails"

Under "Hidden files and Folders", check "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck "Hide extensions....", and "Hide protected......"
check the box, "Remember each folder's view setting", click "Apply", "OK"
